Set it up
Two defenders and a keeper build possession against one pressing player. Use ground passes. Explain the deliberate kick-back handling restriction before playing.
How to play
Defenders may pass back to the keeper’s feet. The keeper receives, scans, and finds the other defender or a target gate. Rotate field roles and keeper volunteers.
Make it easier
Let the presser walk and give the keeper more space.
Add a challenge
Add a second presser when the group controls the ball reliably.
What to watch for
The keeper stands on the same passing line as the defender. Move to offer an angle that can be seen.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same goalkeeping decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLEGet balanced, look, then choose.
