Set it up
Two servers pass to each other outside the goal area. The keeper moves in relation to the ball; no hard shots.
How to play
As the ball moves, the keeper adjusts to stay between ball and goal, then settles into balance. Add occasional gentle ground shots when ready.
Make it easier
Start with servers closer together and no shots.
Add a challenge
Widen the servers so the keeper must cover a larger change of angle.
What to watch for
The keeper moves while the shot is struck. Ask for controlled adjustment followed by a balanced set.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same goalkeeping decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLEGet balanced, look, then choose.
