Set it up
The middle player receives between two teammates who are offset, not in a straight line.
How to play
Receive on the half-turn to see the next teammate, then connect the pass. After several repetitions, reverse the direction and change the middle player.
Make it easier
Increase the angle between teammates and reduce passing speed.
Add a challenge
Add a defender who screens the next pass so the receiver can recycle.
What to watch for
The receiver opens into pressure. The body position must follow the information from a scan, not a fixed rule.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same receiving decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
