Set it up
Two attackers start together against a defender. A goal must be properly secured; cone targets work too.
How to play
Attack together. The ball carrier chooses to dribble, pass, or finish as the defender reacts. If possession changes, the defender counters to the start line.
Make it easier
Give attackers a wider field and the defender a deeper start.
Add a challenge
Add a recovering defender after the first attacking touch.
What to watch for
The support runs beside the ball carrier with no passing angle. Ask them to stay visible beyond the defender’s reach.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same finishing decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
