Teach it with a simple activity
Use players as markers and freeze the passer at the moment of contact. Compare the attacker with both the ball and second-last opponent before discussing involvement.
A situation to discuss
An attacker stands beyond the second-last opponent but stays behind the ball. That position does not meet the normal offside-position test.
Avoid this misunderstanding
A forward-looking photograph after the pass cannot by itself show the player’s position when the teammate played the ball.
