| Players | 2–10 |
|---|---|
| Starting space | 12 × 15 yards; four gates |
| Suggested time | 6–10 minutes, including short breaks |
| Equipment | Balls, flat cones, bibs when teams are used |
Set it up
Each player has a ball. Put gates in a loose diamond with room to approach from either side.
How to play
Approach a gate, roll the ball sideways with the sole, then use the other foot to travel through it. Choose the next gate independently.
Make it easier
Stand beside the gate and practice the roll before traveling.
Add a challenge
Add a partner who points to an exit gate as the roll begins.
What to watch for
Players stand on the ball with all their weight. Use a light sole contact while keeping balance over the standing leg.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same ball mastery decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
