Set it up
Play 3v3 inside with one neutral on each touchline. Neutrals can travel along their line.
How to play
Use wide support to move around central pressure, then return inside when a route opens. Rotate neutral roles so everyone experiences the wide view.
Make it easier
Let wide players receive without pressure.
Add a challenge
Allow one defender to enter a wide channel when the ball arrives.
What to watch for
The wide player passes back immediately every time. Ask them to look for the forward option before recycling.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same width decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
