Set it up
Choose one walking tagger without a ball. Other players dribble. Tags are gentle touches to an upper arm; no grabbing.
How to play
A tagged player freezes the ball, counts three, then rejoins. Change the tagger every 45 seconds. The aim is to find space, not to eliminate players.
Make it easier
Let the tagger walk and make the area larger.
Add a challenge
Add a second tagger while keeping enough escape space.
What to watch for
Players abandon the ball to escape. A successful escape includes the ball; slow the taggers if necessary.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same dribbling decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
