Set it up
Play 3v3 to end lines, adding a neutral if needed. Keep spare balls available for quick restarts.
How to play
Encourage one nearby passing option and another at a different angle. Players move freely; a triangle is a useful relationship, not a fixed shape on the grass.
Make it easier
Add an outside neutral to help the ball carrier.
Add a challenge
Remove the neutral once players reliably create two options.
What to watch for
Two teammates stand on the same line behind a defender. Ask one to change depth and the other to change width.
Take it into a game
Finish with a short small-sided game and look for the same teamwork decision without the activity’s extra conditions. Ask a player to describe one moment when it helped. Keep the next round simple if the skill disappears under pressure.
KEEP IT SIMPLELook for space. Keep the ball within reach.
