Start here

Place cones for the next activity before the session or reuse the same boundary. Put drinks in a designated safe area and explain where players return afterward.

Make it work for your team

Use one consistent stop signal, then give the next instruction in a short sentence. Ask one player to demonstrate if the movement is new.

A common trap

Avoid changing teams, field size, equipment, and rules all at once. Keep at least part of the setup familiar.

Try this example

A passing square becomes a possession game: keep the cones, put on bibs, and add one defender.

Before your next session

  • Choose one action from this guide and write it into your plan.
  • Tell your assistant what you are trying so players hear a consistent message.
  • Afterward, note what helped and what needs a different approach.
KEEP IT SIMPLE

Keep the next action clear, achievable, and connected to the players.
